The first grain transshipment at sea

To achieve full deadweight capacity Bulk Carrier Arvika was anchored at the outer road of Liepaja port where the missing cargo – about 6.5 thousand tons of wheat was delivered by specially equipped vessel that was engaged in similar cargo operations in the Gulf of Finland.

According to port authority statement such ship to ship operation was carried out for the first time since Soviet times. The initiative of terminal on completion of loading of the ship at sea will be considered for further implementation in the near future.
